Dr. Ahmad Alkasir is the Policy Program Manager at the Ellison Medical Institute. He brings experience in health care innovation and strategy execution, having worked on numerous projects in both the U.S. and United Arab Emirates. He co-founded Praxis-GCS, which provides consulting services from its Abu Dhabi office. He most recently worked with UMass Memorial Health Care on their Anchor Mission – a system-wide strategy to build community wealth through local hiring, local sourcing, and place-based investments.
Dr. Alkasir taught health care innovation and entrepreneurship at Harvard and advised health care startup teams competing in the university’s President Innovation Challenge (PIC).
After completing a BSc in Medical Biosciences at Monash University, Dr. Alkasir pursued graduate training in health care management and public health from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (MHCM), the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (MPH), and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (DrPH).
